Abstract

In this paper, we present a null steering antenna that emits a deep and stable null from -60 degrees to 60 degrees without controlling the amplitude of each element pattern. The antenna contains reflector backed two dipole antennas and two parasitic elements on the edge of it. These elements serve as reflectors and change individual element patterns compared with the antenna without them. In doing so, the parasitic elements alleviate the difference of amplitudes between two individual element patterns and contribute toforming a deep and stable null. Simulation results show the proposed antenna keeps scanning a deep null from -60 degrees to 60 degrees. Measurement results verify the improvement of the null depth using a fabricated prototype.
