N2 - Website response time has an important role in user experience as even few seconds of delay can make an unpleasure feeling. It is well known that under 0.1 seconds response time can provide the feeling of instantaneousness while human can sense the delay from over 1 second response time. While the internet speed is getting faster, the resource demand to load a website has also been increasing, such as the resolution of images. Unlike native compiled software, web applications need to simultaneously consider the load of the resource, such as media objects to behave responsive. Recently, most of the media objects in web applications use either Contents Delivery Network or cloud server such as Amazon Web Service, which requires loading duration for each request. Hence, in this study, we developed a method to integrate a containerized resource at a local edge device to provide significantly shorten the resource loading duration. From preliminary test results based on an IoT Web Application, we obtained significant results that may further increase user experience.
