Abstract

A case of Sertoli-stromal cell tumor (SSCT), of a mixed type with heterologous elements, is reported. SSCTs are rare, representing not more than 0.5% of all ovarian neoplasms. It has been shown that they often, but not always, have endocrine activities and display androgenic syndrome, and also estrogenic syndrome on rare occasions. We recently experienced a case of masculinizing ovarian tumor that was resected laparoscopically. The patient's post-operative course was uneventful. We describe here the histological features and immunohistochemical findings of the SSCT with heterologous elements occurring in the ovary.
